$1.2 million will be cut (including 15 teachers, 7 support staff, and multiple sports) if the 2017-2018 budget is approved as currently proposed by the COA (Committee on Appropriations).
Please sign this petition and forward to every Barrington resident you know, and plan to be at the meeting on May 10th, to let COA know we won't let them decimate our schools.
"I support a budget that enables Barrington Public Schools to provide the SAME level of education and activities as this year for its students.
I DO NOT support the $1,202,448 in cuts to the school operating budget, which would include:
- 15 teachers (including classroom teachers, foreign language, art, music, and a guidance counselor)
- 7 support staff (e.g. teaching assistants)
- All middle school and freshman sports
- All hockey, gymnastics, and wrestling
I understand that preserving this $1,202,448 in the budget will equate to a $43/year increase per $100,000 assessed value of my home."
