Why this petition matters

Started by Victory

As the election year approaches and we struggle to get our PVCs, we must ensure that our efforts are not in vain. We are facing intense situations of insecurity, inflation, export ban, and human rights violations in our country. and one of the most critical ways that individuals can influence governmental decision-making is through voting.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, recognizes the integral role that transparent and open elections play in ensuring the fundamental right to participatory government.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Article 21 states:
-Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his/her country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.
-Everyone has the right of equal access to public service in his country.
-The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret ballot or by equivalent free voting procedures.

We all Nigerians entreat the lenience of INEC to consider these demands:

-Reopen the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) portal for two months to allow those who have not registered to do so.

-Opening registration centres in sensitive places like market, malls, churches, mosques, etc to facilitate these process within the specified period.

-Availability of Electronic Voters Machines (EVM) aside ballot papers.

-Institute postal and proxy vote for Nigerian citizens in diaspora to participate

-Photo inclusion of the contesting individuals of the various political parties for easy identification

-Involvement and situating of militants reformer, Soldiers, Air Force, mobile police and agile male youths in all polling units for good conduct and safety in all forms.

Let's make NIGERIA better because it's Now or Never.....
