Premier Baird, people with significant disability and their funding packages are the true asset up for 'sale' in your Government's current Expression Of Interest (EOI).

The state is negotiating the people who reside in these houses as a 'job lot' to go  with current ADHC staff . The government is doing this so they don't need not offer staffing redundancies.

This is nothing short of the 'sale' or 'trade' of human beings as if they are an 'asset' to save redundancy costs.

These people cannot move out if they are neglected or abused as they have nowhere to go, nor do many have the legal capacity to sign a lease or the ability to vote with their feet.

Without alternative housing they cannot change service providers if they are neglected.

So when will these people have any say?

The right thing. People with disability have a right to make choices.

1. separate housing from care; and

2. transfer these publicly owned housing assets that people with significant disability live in into the Community Housing sector so that the tenants of each house, can have a provider of their own choosing.

Your government was the first state to agree to an NDIS under Barry O'Farrell (three cheers) and the only state to trade people with disabilities as if they have no consequence -  under you, Mike Baird (boo).

* WatchHouse was established to act in the protection of people  with significant disabilities who are highly vulnerable to the impacts of poor social policy. We do this by pointing out policy impacts and it’s flaws to our nations decision-makers and legislators.
