Tauondi Aboriginal College is under threat and we need the community to show support for one of the oldest Aboriginal training organisations in the country.

Tauondi is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation who have been providing the community with education and training programs and support since June 1973. Tauondi provides education and training for the whole person, upholding Aboriginal cultures and identities in ways that respect Aboriginal lore and custom and the diversity of students’ experiences and ambitions. Tauondi is also a community hub that brings Aboriginal people together in culturally safe spaces, Tauondi is an important part of our community in SA.

Tauondi is currently under threat from the State Government. They received a significantly reduced funding package as of June 30, 2020, which means a loss of jobs and a reduction in the number of programs and services provided to the community.

We want the State Government and Premier Steven Marshall to know that the services and support Tauondi offers won’t disappear without a fight from the community. Our people should not be forgotten by the government and we want the community to sign and share this petition that requests the Liberal Government and Steven Marshall to reconsider the funding packages they have offered and also encourages the State Government to support it's Aboriginal people... not cut their funding!
