The University of Western Australia is a leading educator in Climate Change and it's consequences. However, UWA employs little green actions to support this. The campus is currently a heavy user of electricity connected to the coal fire grid. The only building with solar is the Oceans Institute. There are no designated large green spaces with biodiversity.  There is no community garden or bike hire. Canteens and cafes are full of single-use plastic and polyurethane, giving students little choice for environmental practices.

This petition we hereby sign to support UWA to GO GREEN:

1) For UWA to be off the grid in four years; fully powered by sustainable energy in December 2023.

2) For UWA to plant 10 000 trees every year, which reflects the bio-diverse nature of Australia. This will be part-funded by students' tuition fees, at no extra cost to students. Students can volunteer and lead on the initiative.

3) For UWA, to be 100% Plastic Free by December 2020. (In all cafes, restaurants and on campus.)

4) For UWA to plant a community garden, which will provide food for the university and the homeless.

5) For UWA to introduce anti-idling laws in all university car parks.

6) For UWA to commence bike hire on campus so students can travel to and from the university.

7) For UWA to work with the state government to have green buses on the university bus route.

8) For UWA together with the University Alumni establish monthly education seminars, to educate all people about climate change and its impacts.
