Flood protection for Alberta River Communities

This petition calls on the Government of Alberta to take on a diligent and thorough review of the Tri-River Joint Reservoir of Alberta project as a viable solution to the flood and water shortage issues experienced in southern Alberta and conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment on it as such.
The TRJR offers the best protection from spring flooding to our river communities while also conserving the high spring flows to help with drought conditions.
The Springbank Offstream Reservoir and the McLean Creek Dam options only deal with one river and do not have the capacity to protect from large floods, even along the Elbow River.
Water is our most precious resource so we must take care of it for ourselves and future generations.
