I started this petition out of my personal experiences. I am a sixteen-year-old teen who lives in Windsor, Ontario. When I turned sixteen this August, I had to wait until my region went into a different  'zone' for covid restrictions before I could take the written G1 test. Once my region was allowing G1 testing to take place I had to wake up at 6 am to stand in line for two and a half hours just for the written test which took a total of 15-20 minutes to write. As soon as I finished the requirements to be able to be tested for a G2 license, I booked my road test for April 12, 2021, which is in two weeks, months in advance... I would say I booked it in early September of 2020... mind you this was the only available slot. Since Doug Ford has now announced a lockdown, I have not only lost my chance at having the G2 road test, I lost my slot which means now I have to book a new one. Due to the lockdowns, drive test centers are booked for months in advance and my local drive test center is booking for 2022. We as Ontarians need to come together and sign this online petition in support of teens and anyone who has a G2 road test booked. There are ways to take safety precautions while still taking a road test... both the examiner and student can wear a mask, face shield, sanitize prior to and post examination. We need to show that restrictions and closures need to be evaluated in Ontario. If chiropractic care, massage therapy, and other physical contact services can stay open during lockdowns, so should non-physical contact services such as drive examination centers. We can do this!
