BC Wood Products Manufacturers started this petition to Premier John Horgan and

On May 12, 2020, Mosaic Forest Management and the United Steel Workers announced an agreement to work together at Mosaics Export Operations on Vancouver Island.

This agreement was accompanied by multiple media reports in which Mosaic and the USW are now calling for a change to the log export policy that currently regulates private forest lands in British Columbia. This proposal, if successful, would allow Mosaic to freely export annually, the average volume of logs it has sold internationally over the last five years.

If Mosaic and the USW are successful in their call to the Government, this decision will have a devastating affect on the Forest Manufacturers within British Columbia. BC fibre should help create jobs for Canadians. Exporting logs, is essentially exporting jobs.

Please sign this petition to send to the Government of British Columbia and the Government of Canada in support of maintaining Notice 102 and ensuring that the Manufacturers of BC have the ability to continue creating and maintaining jobs.
