Why this petition matters

Started by Greg Routenburg

As a parent of a young school aged child in Ontario, I have watched my child struggle through, and be victim of, one of the worst education crises in Ontario history. I am of course talking about the repeated school closures and transitions to virtual learning brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s time that the government hears decisively from us, the parents, the grandparents and all concerned citizens with our children’s best interests at heart. It’s time that we unite under one banner and tell our Premier and our Minister of Education that these disruptions to our children's learning must end. We must protect their interests and ensure that they are getting not only the best education possible but also their critical social interactions that they so desperately need at this stage in their lives.
In addition to signing this petition, it’s important that we be prepared to show the government that we are prepared to take action if necessary. So, in saying that, I’m asking that if the government doesn’t agree to return to in person learning on Monday January 17th and offer a firm commitment to in person learning for the remainder of the school year, we assemble as many VACCINATED parents and concerned citizens as possible to march on Queen’s Park and personally deliver this signed petition to them. Only through responsible and peaceful action can we demonstrate to our children that our government has a duty to respect the demands of the citizens they represent. In the interest of public safety, I therefore ask that ALL non or partially vaccinated individuals limit their involvement in this protest to signing this petition and writing or calling their local MPP, Mr Lecce and Mr Ford and express their concern for their distributive education policies.

Thank-you
