What do Hydro lines and Provincial Parks have in common ?

They both could be up for sale under Pallister's  Bill 12.

In order to sell off to the private sector Manitoba's Crown assets, such as Manitoba Hydro and provincial Parks, the Pallister government would need to lay the legislative groundwork.

This is what Bill 12, The Crown Lands Dispositions Act (Various Acts Amended), makes possible.

This omnibus Bill, which is now slated for second reading, amends not only the Crown Lands Act, but also the following five Acts; The Expropriation Act, The Land Acquisition Act, The Public Works Act, The Transportation and Infrastructure Act and The Water Resources Administration Act.

We believe our Parks are for people and not for profits for the private sector.

We believe Manitoba Hydro must remain a public utility and not a private one.

We believe Manitobans need to be consulted before selling off our Crown Jewels.

We therefore, call on the Premier of Manitoba to let this Bill die on the Order Paper.
