The following letter is from Conrad Milster, Chief Engineer at Pratt Institute, and caretaker of the Pratt Cats in response to petition.

To all the wonderful fans of the Pratt Cats my sincere thanks for your unbelievable support. GOOD NEWS, an agreement has been reached and the cats have returned. Teddy is Back!

In all fairness to Pratt I should say that my orders were to remove the cats from the Power Plant and East Building only (This would be about half of the total Pratt Cats). The others were safe for now.

The removed cats came home with me - at no point were they under any physical threat, but several were upset at the change. I had no idea so much support had been shown until I was put on the (very) hot seat Thursday and was accused of starting the flood of emails and telephone calls inundating many administrators from President Schutte on down (He is a fan of the cats). Again a great big meooooow to all of you wonderful people.

I haven't even had a chance to meet the cats, but my brother goes to Pratt and he sends me pictures of them. Having cats on campus is the best thing I've ever heard.

Animals should not be moved or manipulated like objects. These cats deserve the same respect you'd give a resident. We must allow them to continue bringing joy to the students and staff and live their lives in peace.

My daughter favored attending Pratt because of the CATS. What would Pratt be without the Pratt Cats?
