Board Marks shouldn't be a criteria for eligibility into campus recruitment

Campus recruitments for both engineering and MBA students should be solely based on their performance while at college. Why do we have to consider board Marks (which would be 5-6 years ago for a recent graduate approximately) for appearance at campuses?
A child's brain is always on the change. There might have been several factors seen and unseen that might influence his or her performance during boards (both 10th and 12th). What if we have someone who is excellent at a particular field in college and has numerous papers to his or her credit but can't sit for the top companies just because of a number half a decade ago?
Why can't board Marks only be considered while joining in a particular undergraduate degree and be left at that?
Because of tremendous pressure right from the beginning, children aren't able to know what they are good at. All they do is follow others in the hopes of being like someone else. Children are ours to nurture and we can't get them into waters too deep for them to handle too soon.
No child should be allowed to live in the ghosts of his or her own past.
