Move up the PPS timeline for SUMMA-style TAG programming in each cluster
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
PPS is currently out of compliance with the Division 22s for TAG services. The learning needs of over 5000 TAG students are not currently being met by neighborhood school programs. A viable solution has been proposed by the PPS TAG department-- to offer a SUMMA/ACCESS style middle school program at a minimum of 1 middle school per cluster (within the next 3 years). TAG students would be offered gifted programming *within a robust middle school program*. If the timeline for these programs could be aligned to roll out with the start of the new middle schools, it could go a long way toward solving ACCESS' growth plan needs. The timeline should be moved forward to allow for planning within the new middle school visioning.
Please note: the intention is not to replace ACCESS Academy, but to offer expanded services at a local level which could be modeled off of successful programs at ACCESS and SUMMA.
