As a senior at Franklin High School, my schedule is filled to the brim. I need as much time as possible to finish homework, talk to my teachers, and work on college and career prep. The current tutorial system at Franklin High School is detrimental to my ability to complete these necessary facets of student life - only being able to meet with certain teachers on certain days, and often forced to choose between utilizing tutorial and attending workshops or events. Additionally, I frequently require more than one session to complete my work, and many weeks have no tutorial at all.

I have come to understand that my peers share my annoyance, as do teachers from several departments. No one wants this tutorial system. I understand that teachers have a responsibility to attend meetings during the allotted tutorial time, however I am sure those meetings can be rescheduled to after school. I propose that tutorial be reverted to the pre-pandemic system, in which teachers are available throughout tutorial both Wednesday and Thursday, no matter their discipline. I also propose that tutorial be every week, in order to maintain a set schedule and avoid confusion. I strongly believe that this change would be beneficial to students and staff alike at Franklin High School.
