The first priority coming out of lockdown is education, yet this council seems to be putting this school in very low priority, forcing changes that will be highly detrimental to the children's education and welfare.

The threat to close this NEW fully equipped school is just crazy particularly as they are building more new homes in the vicinity of the school where there could be more children resident with in walking distance.

Small village schools are the beating heart of rural communities, not the soulless, faceless mega complexes where the children are no more than numbers.

We have had school closures in Ceredigion and it removes the heart of the village and means children spend time travelling out of their communities. It causes hardship for families and tiredness for children. Ultimately, I think closures have a negative effect on education and wellbeing.

I’m signing as a new school has recently been built and I dont agree with the way the teacher and governors have been dealt with. In addition, as a town planner and from a community and wide area persoective.

Rural schools should be valued. Less transport costs, better community care, the list goes on. Education shouldn't be about money but about the children. The councils should be trying to look after the next generation not using them to save a bit of money.

This is not the time for draconian management, Powys! Let Clyro school get on with what they're doing brilliantly, and concentrate your efforts on failing schools elsewhere!

I'm a teacher myself and in a large primary school which was formed after my small infants school was forcibly amalgamated with 2 others which were of course subsequently closed and replaced by a new, soulless mega school building.

Important to keep small schools open
