It’s an absolute disgrace that dads still don’t have equal leave after going through the life changing event of becoming a parent. Speaking as a mother of 5,I can’t see what it makes!

Should be equal rights. Important time for all to bond as a family and support each other.

As a Parent/Father myself im dissapointed with PCC and how they have handled this, male or female, Mother or Father, the time off work should be equal in time frame aswell as pay grade

Anything that inhibits a parents ability/opportunity to care for their child is beyond abhorrent. It's time policies like this were left in the dark ages, where they belong.

This is absolutely ridiculous men should be supported just like women!

Children are bought into the world by two people, a man and a woman. Now this can happen in many ways these days and parents can be single, joint, male/female or same sex but it is an undisputed fact that children require care. Until we get over the notion that women only give up careers or want leave to look after children in their first year we will get stuck in some kind of old record. The public sector must lead the way in apportioning parental leave giving men parity with women in receiving full parental pay not minimum wage when taking time off to look after children. Powys need a policy to achieve that, not difficult, not costly just sensible.

Men and women must be treated equally.
