The use of plastic material for the cultivation of the vines leads to a dispersion of pollutant throughout the island. Plastic cows break down and spread throughout the wilderness.
There are other biodegradable materials that would prevent this ecological disaster.
The community of municipalities that manages the ecotaxes of the passage of the Ile de Ré bridge can help the vine growers to continue developing their activity while preserving the environment.
