In Florida, students are being required to return back onto campus to take their state exams. Coming from a student, it is not fair to pressure students to pass the exam in person. The pandemic has put many struggles on many people around the world, not just in Florida and requiring them to take an exam is not going to help. Remember mental health is more important than a test grade. We are children not adults. Notice how if we are sent back to school, the cases will rise even more because people are being exposed without knowing. Many teenagers in my area are going to parties without any masks or social distancing. This can create issues. If we are forced to go back, we will be exposed to their germs and can possibly catch this deadly virus. Even making sure they quarantine two weeks before is not enough. They will find a way to socialize with one another. I encourage and ask that you help all the students and cancel state testing. I understand we did not take an exam last year, but determining a student’s potential based on how they work at home is not fair. Everyone has different situations and no situation is the same. There are many distractions at home, and we are surrounded by our families. What if we caught COVID-19 because of students from school? Think about it. Just because an exam required to pass to another grade level. Thank you, next.
