Have you heard? Probably not. The county was only required to send letters to property owners within a 1000 ft of the proposed rock quarry. This quarry will effect way more than those within 1000 ft. We live on Clear Creek Road so we’ll be behind the quarry. That doesn’t change any of these things.

Reasons to DENY rock quarry:

Permanently changes the landscape
Lowers home values 15-30%
Creates more dust- harmful to health
Creates noise-blasting and trucks
Creates additional truck traffic (we have young drivers going both north and south)
Destroys wildlife habitat

We bought our house to enjoy the piece and quiet of the country. Of course we have cows, coyotes and farm truck  and normal noise. We don’t want the damage that could occur to our home from the blasting or the dust on a daily basis. We don’t want to add the addition of a rock quarry in this area. This area is beautiful with homes, pastures and livestock. We don’t want an ugly “scar”. Wheaton road is highly traveled so visitors to the area and daily drivers will see the ugliness on a daily basis.
