Please help us appeal to St Thomas City hall to grant an exception to their outdated bylaw and allow our 15 year old son, Carson Harris, open up his Clippity Clop Ice Cream Shoppe.   Anyone who knows Carson will know he has a passion for culinary arts and he wanted to explore that this summer by serving Shaw’s ice cream to the residents of St Thomas.   The Mobile Refreshment bylaw was written in 1992 and it has been acknowledged by City Hall that an update is needed, however, we have been told due to Covid it didn’t happen for 2020 season.

Carson personally spoke with the owners at Geerlinks Home Hardware who granted him permission to operate in their parking lot.   He has had the health inspection, fire inspection and electrical inspection completed on his stand and the final piece of the puzzle is a City permit.   Carson has been working hard learning how to scoop the perfect cone and make the best old fashioned milk shake that he is now ready to open for business.

Shaw’s Ice Cream is a local favourite and Carson intends to give back to the St Thomas community through this business by donating 10% of his revenue to the Grace Cafe and Inn Out of the Cold.

Please sign this petition to City Council to make an exception to by-law No. 9-92 for the 2020 summer season.

Thanks,

Heather and Darryl Harris
