We support any effort on the part of Mayor Charlie Hales to encourage the Water Bureau to adopt a humane policy when it comes to providing water to Portland residents. The service is paid for by the taxpayer and the water is not owned by the water bureau. That water is jointly owned by the inhabitants of this planet. Some of us, including Alicia, are in a legal dispute with the banks regarding ownership of the property. The Water Bureau seems to be siding with the big banks, despite abundant evidence that the banks have engaged in illegal activities, including illegal foreclosures. Until the issues are resolved, the humane and right thing to do is provide water to Alicia. She is doing a service to the community by keeping this house a vibrant home rather than a blight on the neighborhood.
