Keep Giant Sequoia in Sabin Standing

Keep Giant Sequoia in Sabin Standing
A healthy Giant Sequoia tree near NE 12th and Mason, one of the largest trees in the Sabin neighborhood, has been incorrectly targeted for removal by Urban Forestry. The City, citing violation PCC 11.70.030.A.2 of Portland’s Title 11 tree code, has ordered the tree removed. The City DID NOT include both property owners in discussions about removing the tree before this order was issued, even though ownership is equally shared. We respectfully request that the city begin again with this decision making process, including BOTH property owners.
Please join us in asking the City of Portland, Bureau of Development Services and the Office of Urban Forestry, to reverse the removal order, 19-205171-000-00-UF
and work with us to keep this tree standing.
The loss of this giant would be a loss to the entire city. As citizens and neighbors, we know there are ways to keep this giant tree standing! We believe that together we have the power to apply creative solutions for entrenched, difficult problems.
