All students deserve adequate staff, not just the students with deep pockets. All staff deserve to not be overworked and spread thin just because they are in a less prosperous community.

Schools will never be close to equal if rich neighborhoods can fund teachers to make up what the district doesn’t fund

Foundation dollars allow privileged school communities to plug holes in an inadequately-funded model and for other schools, without these means, to go without. We need to do better and to hold ourselves and the district accountable.

I'm signing because I have been a teacher in PPS for 8 years and see the gross discrepancies in funding and school resources across the district due to inequitable funding based on these "foundations". Fundraising for these foundations should go to all schools equally and pressure needs to be placed on our government to increase school funding so schools don't rely on property taxes (creating more inequities) .
