Stop the Pond Hotel from getting rid of Andy the car park attendant.

5 weeks from now, the Pond Hotel (Owned by Portland Hotels Ltd) are planning on introducing an entirely electronic system for controlling entry and exit from their cark park, across from Gartnavel Hospital and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. In doing so, they will be getting rid of Andy, the current attendant for the car park, who has time and time again, gone above and beyond his duties to help people, whether it be by helping direct cars into spaces or helping people walk across the icy grounds when winter hits. He is a lovely person who, as well as making sure car park patrons are looked after, also takes care of all the swans and ducks at the Bingham Pond.
In moving to this electronic system the Pond Hotel are also making it less convenient for people to use their car park, as instead of being able to pay for your parking at the attendants box upon leaving, you will need to go into the hotel to the reception desk to pay, causing more queues.
I believe that The Pond Hotel should reconsider their plans for the car park and especially their plan to dismiss Andy. He would be a real loss to the hospital staff and patients who use this car park everyday and look forward to the friendly service and smile the receive from him everyday. If the hotel do not wish to change their plans for Andy’s sake, perhaps they should do it for their own, as I, and many of my colleagues, will not be using the car park ever again if they decide to make Andy redundant after 7 years faithful and diligent service.
