Rosie Clement started this petition to Porirua city council

Pāuatahanui village is a special and unique spot that brings together many people daily as they utilise the preschool, primary school, cinema, cafe, petrol station, Trading Post, dairy and beautiful walks. With this comes a lot of vehicle traffic, not to mention the increasing development in the surrounding areas, using the village as a thoroughfare. Combine the heavy vehicle use factors with angle car parks, multiple busy driveways, a drop off bay and then throw in preschool and school children running about as they make their way to and from school twice per day and you have a vibrant wee stretch - that can also be a very dangerous wee stretch, particularly for our tamariki.
This petition aims to gain support from the local community to decrease the speed limit from 50km/h to 30km/h in the Pāuatahanui village, so that we can keep our tamariki as safe as possible.
