Stop the Demolition of the Chimney in Hamworthy, Poole

The Hamworthy Chimney is a local landmark loved by all. It helps guide sailing vessels and tourists when trying to find their way. It gives a nod to Poole's historical industrial past. Many of the local people worked at the site at some stage in their lives and it is the last remaining nod after so much of our history has been demolished to make way for people's 'second homes'. Barratt homes has been given the go ahead from Poole Council, without public consultation, to build houses on this site. However the local people would like Barratt Homes to incorporate the chimney in its design as it does not take up much space. (Similar to that of Brewery Square in Dorchester). It is due to be knocked down in late May 2018.
