I am twelve years old and I have been wearing the same hearing aids since I began kindergarten and they are getting old and not working very well. I am now in seventh grade and I would really like new hearing aids when I move to high school. My mother and father pay our health insurance, the Pomco Group, very steep fees monthly to cover health expenses. So I really don't see the difference when it comes to hearing aids. They are part of my health. I need them to hear properly and be successful.
There are kids in the world who need hearing aids and their parent cannot afford them. I don't understand the difference between glasses and hearing aids. They are both part of my health yet the glasses are covered and not the hearing aids.
I have tried writing to you but have gotten no response.
Pomco and Syracuse University, please begin covering the hearing aids for all people because they are not "non-essential."
