Allow Dreamer Cesar Vargas to Practice Law by Dropping his Probation!

On June 3rd, a New York court approved the application of Cesar Vargas, a national immigration advocate, to practice law. This overturns a 2013 decision by a committee that had denied his application based on his immigration status.
While his application to the bar was pending, Cesar was defending himself against charges of trespassing after he was detained at Steve King's Iowa Freedom Summit when he questioned potential GOP presidential candidates on their immigration stances, specifically whether they would deport Dreamers and parents, as some in the Republican party have called for.
Mr. Vargas' application to be admitted officially as the first Dreamer to practice law has now been delayed after a County Prosecutor in Iowa opposed his request to be released from probation.
While requests and approvals to be released early from probation are common, Mr. Vargas request has been opposed by the Des Moines County attorney despite paying all fines. Moreover, the county attorney has argued that Mr. Vargas has not been rehabilitated and is a danger to society.
Please help us by asking Polk County Attorney to drop his probation!
After his father died, Mr. Vargas was brought to the United States at the age of 5 by his mother. He graduated law school, and interned in prominent government agencies. Since law school, he has been involved in a Dreamer movement — undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children — to reform the country’s broken immigration system.
