According to USA Today, 1 in 6 American women will be the victim of rape or attempted rape. Men don’t have to worry about being raped at night when walking down the streets. If men touches us in a unforgivable way-we barely can protect ourselves. I started this petition to not only protect women across the world, but to also get our rights as women to an equal.

Did you know that women earn 80¢ for every $1 earned by men? It’s always the men who do basketball they say. It’s always the men who do the hard work. But women get to do basically nothing that men can do? Your gender does not identify who you are. It is your character that counts. Not the fact that girls wear dresses and guys wear tuxes. You can be who you want to be, don’t care about who says you can’t be who you are. Embrace yourself, love yourself. Don’t let people change the idea of who you are.

Most women are nurses, and in this global pandemic-they are the ones that are saving lives by taking care of the infected. Yes women make up 51% of the population but only 19% of Congress. Marie Claire says “Women are far more likely to be the victims of human trafficking” and “female soldiers face rape and harassment”

Just because we are girls and we are defenseless makes us a easy target? No! We women, are strong, independent individuals who need our rights. To be equal. We women need our voices heard. We need the respect we deserve.

Yes, It is known  that men also do get raped, and that studies shown they commit suicde more-it does not matter what gender, color, or age, you are you and people treat their opposite s*x differently then others do. I am trying to make a change that we all treat each other respectfully. Especially men. No means no. Don't push it.
