The Ganges River is in the western Himalayas and flows down across northern India into Bangladesh. The river is mostly used for fishing and bathing, and it is worshiped in the Hindu religion as the Mother Ganga. Winding over 2,700km, the Ganges River becomes one of the planet's most polluted rivers. It has a lot of animal waste, pesticides and industrial metals. Despite its pollution, it provides drinking water for over 400 million people. Due to the combination of chemicals in the river, water used for uses like drinking or cooking leads to the spread of waterborne diseases. Diseases such as cholera, hepatitis and typhoid. The cause of water pollution in the Ganga river is the increase in the population, and the various human activities such as bathing, washing clothes and dumping of various harmful waste into the rivers. The NGRB wants to create a municipal sewage system for pollution such as untreated sewage. This would bring a clean water supply and sewage systems in all the cities. It is time for us to pay attention and consider the natural environment of rivers such as this. Sign this petition for respecting our natural environment.
