Let Tennessee media outlets live stream high school postseason sports
Tennessee media outlets are now offering more to their broadcasts outside of just broadcasting on radio airwaves. Across the state, majority of outlets are offering up a free video live streaming service for various high school athletics during the regular season. Those options which can be found on many social media sites whether YouTube or Facebook.
It's a service that is available to those around the world thanks to the power of the internet, to tune into Tennessee high school athletics at any point in time. It's a service for those who can't make the drive across the state of Tennessee when weather or travel distance is an issue. Also for those who are outside of Tennessee who would like to see their family member compete in these events.
Currently the TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association) and the NFHS Network have paired up to bring people a PAID video live streaming service here in the state for high school athletics. Price options for the network are either $10.99 a month or $69.99 for a year which is for both regular and post seasons in various sports.
The issue is during the postseason, the NFHS Network has a monopoly on video live streaming games. Basically media outlets who were video live streaming during the regular season can no longer in the postseason due to contract restrictions from the TSSAA and the NFHS Network.
All we are asking is for media outlets to have a chance and option to compete with the NFHS Network, and allow folks to have a free and alternative option to watch Tennessee high school athletics.
