The bike rider fatalities are on the raise in the UK, and I am a victim of it in the week of Christmas 2021- where the criminal offender knocked me over from behind while I was walking on the pavement and he ran away, causing me multiple injuries, deep contusions, cut wounds and black eyes and mutliple fractures of my hand, my nose and my patella that await operations. Who counts accountable for this. I read two other women were hit on the same month and the bike ride ran away and as always the police did nothing and just ask for witness to come forward. Bike travels at high speed are dangerous and should be treated as a small car as they travel at 40 miles/ hour. Many had lost their life due to this careless reckless behaviour. I was hit from behind when I was walking peacefully on the pavement. Who would think of that at all and who suffered is basically me. He didn't apologise or call the ambulance for me nor called the police. He just rode off as nothing happened. I would like to call for a change and make pavement safe for everyone. There are many vulnerable people, women, children and elderly, who walk on the footpaths. I don't feel safe anymore walking on the pavement. I want a change in law for bike riders for the sake of all pedestrians.
