Political parties in India must come under the Right to Information Act (RTI)
The political parties are essentially public entities. They are tax-exempt entities and also get many benefits from the government eg, free or highly discounted land for the office, etc. Thus, it is of paramount importance that political parties conduct themselves in a fair and transparent manner. If political parties can't keep their affairs transparent, how can we expect them to deliver better governance?
Also by not being under RTI, their black money politics (viz., Electoral Bonds) continues to be hidden.
Hence, Shadow Cabinet India asserts that this is high time that the political parties in India come under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
We as a citizen of India demand that political parties in India must come under the RTI, and be accountable.
