Whether you are a fan of terrain park skiing/boarding or not, terrain parks belong at ski hills. Our local ski hill has been seemingly trying to phase out the usage of terrain parks from our perspective. The last time we had a terrain park on the actual terrain park trail was 2019. Prior to that year it was hit and miss each year, some years there were awesome parks, other years they were disregarded after only a little bit of rain. Terrain parks have also been removed to accommodate ski cross courses. The previous two years, we have had a terrain park to ski, however, it was not on a trail that was suitable for a terrain park and was also miniature when compared to other ski resorts in New Brunswick. The trail is too steep for a terrain park resulting in very high speeds, which in turn is more dangerous. This year, we are still yet to have any type of terrain park built whereas season pass holders are jealously looking at other resorts wishing they lived closer so there was a terrain park for them to ski at.

We believe that every resort should have something for everybody. Steep corduroy, beginner areas, racing areas, trees, ski/boarder cross, a terrain park, you name it. These disciplines are what the industry standard has become. There is no reason for a terrain park be removed for or replaced by a ski/boarder cross course. These 2 disciplines can be built on the same trail side by side if need be and not take anything away from each other. We have seen it done. The terrain park at Poley Mountain should be built on the traditional trail off the sidewinder. This gives youth a place to ski and a place to call home. Because after all, terrain park skiing is a big family.

Please support us in our quest to achieve an all inclusive experience at the resort we all love.
