It's a good first step to right the injustices done to this population.

I’m signing this petition because I’m thoroughly disgusted with this never ending punishment that citizens on this bogus registry must endure. There’s no logic, as to why this registry should remain active along with the draconian laws associated with it, long after those individuals had already served their time.
Yet, unlike others convicted of non-sex crimes, this group is faced with significant barriers allowing them no chance of redemption. This one-size-fits-all approach is inhumane.
There many are on that registry should not be. Lawmakers need to take off their damn blind folders. If our president truly wants to reform our criminal justice system, then factor in the registry, as well! All offenders deserve a second chance, including those who committed sex-crimes.
If an offender is deemed so dangerous to society, then what’s the purpose of release, in the first place? Otherwise let the non-violent offenders and others who’ve been accused of these so-called sex-crimes that hadn’t, in any way, involved a child live in peace!!! ABOLISH THE REGISTRY!!!!!

Because sex offender laws have become completely inhumane, stripping offenders and their families of basic human dignity and privacy.

If we don't stand up for everyone's liberties we lose our liberties too. Unfortunately there's so much fearmongering and misinformation about sex offenders. We are the only country that puts children on the register. There's so many failings in the system. Forensic interviewers use methods that they know elicits false allegations. Minorities and the poor are targeted because they can't afford a defense. Innocent people take plea bargains with out knowledge of the cruel and unconstitutional collateral damage. Wealthy lobbyist's own our so called lawmakers and the lobbyist's and corporations make the laws that benefit them. Who cares it's only human beings

I wholeheartedly agree with this petition.
This "cancel culture" denies democracy as well as the life inherent in art itself.

I am signing because people have served their sentence and time it is time to allow them to rejoin society -- not continue to punish -- otherwise , the question is raised -- why spend trillions of dollars on a system if you ignore its rulings.

I'd like more to be done than just signing petitions, but this is a start. If we don't value everyone who served time and is trying to become a productive society, then just give us all welfare checks upon release.
