Dear Shri Narendra Modi Ji -

Every morning we the citizens of National Capital Region of India wake up to the horror of extreme air pollution in our communities. This morning we woke up to dense smog around us and this has been happening for last several years around this time of the year. We read newspapers where hundreds of pages of newsprint have been consumed with analysis and paralysis of why NCR bears the brunt of air pollution. Children, elderly and patients of our communities are most vulnerable - we are literally compromising with the future of our children and country.

This is not a new problem, it has existed for years and we are also aware of the major reasons for such dangerous pollution levels:

Stubble burning in Punjab farm lands - Ruthlessly implement existing laws to stop this
Construction Dust - huge problem across NCR - Ruthlessly implement existing laws to stop this
Heavy vehicle movement across NCR roads as no bypass available - STOP this immediately
Polluting 3 wheelers & buses, specially in Gurgaon - Ruthlessly implement existing laws to stop this
Diwali Fireworks - new law needed to stop this
Slow speed of traffic causes multifold increase in emission levels - improve road infrastructure and public transportation
Huge migration to NCR from almost all of North India - bring more job opportunities to Tier 2 cities so that massive migration to NCR for jobs do not happen

This issue cannot be solved by one government agency as multiple states are involved - Delhi, Haryana, UP & Punjab.

We, the citizen of NCR, demand that immediate steps be taken under the leadership of Prime Minister of India and PMO to bring down pollution level of NCR to acceptable levels. It needs to be done at war footing - we do not deserve this. Actually right to clean air and water should be our fundamental right!
