Its common practice in metro now to take huge deposit money in name of security deposit. While evacuating home, owner will keep all money in name of damage which is just against the law.

1. Owners will take 75k to 1 lakh as security deposit while renting house. In contract, they will mention to take 1 month rent as painting charges while evacuating home.

2. When you leave they will add BBMP charges, painting charge, labor charge, Acid wash charge, renovation charges and other maintenance and not return a penny back.

3. We gave 85k as security and after 6 months of evacuating home, still we are following owner to give back our deposit.

This is common practice and new mechanism of harassing and exploiting tenants. Concerned minsters should take care of such increasing incidents.
