I'm writing to seek support for starting a campaign to save the national heroes. I'm a civilian who sleeps peacefully because I know Indian Army Jawans are guarding me un till incidents such as attack on Pathankhot and Mumbai takes place.
We have not learnt our lessons from 26/11 attack where the heroes laid down their lives because they did not have Bulletproof Jackets. It happened yet again at Pathankhot where 7 other heroes laid their lives and could only gun down 6 militants as they neither had the Jackets nor were they trained enough to combat such incidents.
It is a sheer disgrace to loose 7 jawans to gun down only 6 militants. I'm sure every one is aware that Corporal Gursewak Singh was married just 45 days ago and Lt Col Niranjan Kumar had an 18 month old kid. They too deserve to live with their families.
We also know that the Government has much more important issues at hand to handle and hence we as citizen of India want to do our bit.
In order to avert any such incidents in future and to save our heroes, I along with my friend (Mayyank Kaul) are writing to seek support to start a campaign, "#savethebrave". I've summarised the campaign plan for your review.
We will start the campaign on social media such as Twitter and Facebook with hashtag "#savethebrave". Every retweet or like will be counted as a vote to support the campaign.
As part of the campaign, we will raise the funds from civilians with no minimum or maximum amount cap. People can donate as per their capability to support the campaign.
We will have to open bank account with the name of the campaign which can be monitored by one of the responsible person who can use this funds for buying jackets and for training our real heroes who are placed in terrorist infested areas.
We do not know how many such areas are there or the count of jawans who are deployed and we trust that Ministry of Defence will take care of that part.
We will kick start the campaign once we have support from Shri Narendra Modi ji to go ahead so that we can receive maximum participation.
Regards, Indians who want to save the brave heroes.Rajeev NairMayyank Kaul
