What’s the issue?:

Many students across the globe are doing online schooling due to COVID. Students are already struggling and stressed out with online school and adding homework makes it even worse. If students are struggling with their work, they cannot just go to their teacher and get the help that they need. It is a lot harder to get help with your work now that everything is online. Not only that, but the vast majority of students also have jobs to help support their family during these hard times which means that they physically do not have the time for homework after class. A lot of stress that students have to cope with comes from essays and homework.

Solution:

An easy solution for this issue would be as simple as not assigning homework. Not only would it be beneficial for the students but also for the teachers. Teachers would have to do less grading and wouldn’t have to deal with more stress. It’s a win-win situation. We are already dealing with so much in these hard times and we don’t need homework adding onto it. Homework should not be our number one concern right now. Staying healthy and safe should be the number one concern. So is homework really more important than supporting your family through these times?
