Save the Reel Cinema in Plymouth

This petition had 5,145 supporters

I have lived in Plymouth all of my life and like so many others the Reel Cinema holds many fond memories. This is why we must stop Plymouth City Council giving the go ahead to the upcoming proposals.

It is set to be demolished and replaced with a hotel, commercial units and student accommodation. I don't see the necessity for any of these things as there is already a plentifull supply of them all.

What is important is to maintain and preserve a character filled building that houses an affordable cinema for the people of Plymouth.

It's a beautiful 1930's Art Deco Building faced in stunning white Portland stone. There is so much history surrounding it including a visit from The Beatles in 1963!

Plymouth was flattened during The Blitz and we lost so many historic buildings. This is why it's so important to treasure and enjoy the ones we have left.

Please support my petition for us, our children and the generations to come. Thank you.
