Pledge to Vote on Climate Change This Year!
Too many political candidates around the US refuse to accept basic scientific fact: climate change is real and it needs to be addressed.
NextGen Climate was created to elect candidates willing to take bold action on climate change – and to keep our leaders from catering to special interests on the wrong side of the issue.
It’s time to act – and we’re asking you to start with your vote: pledge to vote on climate change at the ballot box this November.
We need to hold our political leaders accountable for their actions at the polls.
Politicians like Florida Governor Rick Scott who said, “I’ve not been convinced that there’s any man-made climate change,” and conveniently ignored the hundreds of thousands of Floridians he is supposed to represent who are currently threatened by rising sea levels, saltwater intrusion, and rising flood insurance costs.
Or Colorado Senate Candidate Cory Gardner who doesn’t “believe humans are causing [that] climate change to the extent that’s been in the news,” and has taken hundreds of thousands in donations from fossil fuel companies while voting for their interests.
Bottom line: climate change poses a serious threat to our economy, our health, and our children. It’s up to us to act now and change the conversation on climate around the country.
