Co-Operative Group Back Primates and Seek Supply Chain Alternatives
Sep 25, 2013 — The Co-Operative Group have some of Britain's longest-standing policies on animal welfare and vivisection.
When we presented them with information detailing the capture of primates on Mauritian sugar plantations, they reacted with shock and investigated the matter immediately.
This week, we can confirm that the Co-Operative own brand sugar is now 100% Malawian and the company are now looking into replacing Mauritian sugar as an ingredient in products.
We would like to thank the Co-Operate for having such firm ethical policies. Now we are continuing talks with retailers, wholesalers and distributors to ensure the Mauritian Sugar Boycott spreads.
