I, Prashanta Barman, is an ex- employee of India's most reputed IT company, TCS- Tata Consultancy Services.
I have born and brought up in West Bengal and find myself very lucky to born here with ample number of
reasons like the art, culture, festivals, Cuisines ,education, freedom fighters and many more and want my
State to develop and grow in each and every aspects with the world.
But, these days I am very concerned about the Lottery system in West Bengal. As per my knowledge only 13 states allow lotteries. These are Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland and Mizoram.
Every day 3 Lottery games are conducted across different locations in Bengal (i.e DEAR VALUABLE (Time 11:55 AM, DEAR SINCERE Time: 4:00 PM DEAR PARROT Time: 8:00 PM). People from age group of 22 to 50/more are involved in
These kind of Gambling. The Lottery game looks very lucrative initially but gradually it becomes addiction
and lead to loss of time and money for youngsters. The young generation is wasting their time in these
activities rather than enhancing their skills for employment. Families are getting poorer day by day because the head of the family involved and most of their money is spent in gambling activates. . On top of it, if someone get some money from lottery, then mostly they spend all their money in the Liquors, bad habits leading to ill health.
So, in Hindsight, the Govt despite getting some tax and the organisers getting most of the money from Lottery games, its causing a huge and bad implications in the life of youngsters and the generations to come and eating our beautiful state like a termite.
Therefore, I would request the govt to kindly stop and ban these kind of lottery games and take the necessary actions without further delay.
