My son, Jon Nguyen, was just 18 years old when he was first put in Vacaville Medical Center in 1987 for fighting with his classmate. He has been transferred a few times to different facilities, and he is currently detained at California Health Center Department of Correction in Stockton. He is now 47 years old; I am his 75-year-old mother and the only one to visit him since he was detained. I live in the city of Anaheim, California. I am no longer able to drive long distance due to my aging physical health, and the public transportation does not take me to destination where my son is being held. For the remaining years of my life before I die, I wish to visit him more often. It would be grateful if he will be transferred to a local facility where I am able to make short trip to visit him.
I am asking the Governor, Jerry Brown, to exercise his discretion to grant my wish, so my son will be transferred to a local Southern California facility. I need you help in supporting my last wish. Please sign my petition to help me to visit my son more often and give Jon more times to see his mother while I am still able to visit him.
