We are asking for more Irish Blood clinics to take blood from people with haemochromatosis

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

People who have not got a medical card suffering with Haemochromatosis at the moment have to pay €80 every time they need a phlebotomy procedure done in the hospital and are not permitted to give blood for free at blood transfusion clinics except in two pilots running in Dublin and Cork. We are asking for all Blood transfusion clinics to accept Blood from Hemochromatosis sufferers.  Haemochromatosis is not a blood disease and the blood donated can be safely used by the IBTS once the patient meets other criteria for blood donation.
