As the email we just received says, the Shenzhen College of International Education (SCIE) will open the campus and started on-site learning tomorrow (Thursday, June 15th)

As a student from outside Shenzhen myself, I am aware that there are hundreds of students living in Guangzhou, and even other provinces who have difficulty returning to Shenzhen in a single day. The time when travelling will most often be in daytime, which essentially means we will miss our class. Another thing is the typhoon in Yangtze river delta which result in vast flight cancellation, students living in this area may not be able to travel today or tomorrow due to this reason. Overall, if the date of returning remain to be on tomorrow, many students might not be able to return to school immediately. Even though we can make it to Shenzhen, the school will still not allow us in before finishing the 3-day quarantine, so we are bound to waste another three days having online classes whereas local students can have them in the classroom.

The case will be different if the school board is willing to make some improvement or reschedule it. Since the original return day is thursday, there are only two school days remaining in one week. If the school can still hold online classes in the coming two days and start on-campus learning on next monday, students outside shenzhen will have a chance to travel and quarantine in shenzhen without missing out classes.Furthermore, it would be the best if school could arrange us a empty dorm room to stay during the weekend so that we no longer need to cover the payment of accomodation for the 3 days.

Therefore, I suggest the school to reschedule the campus reopening, it will be a great convenience for us the minorities if the change could happen.
