This petition is to help our beloved School Dean Israel Garcia and his family. Who at the moment are experiencing a massive injustice. Due to ineffective assistance from Mr. Garcia’s previous lawyer, who failed to introduce exonerating evidence, manipulated Mr. Garcia into signing a plea deal in fear of the famous “trial penalty” which incentivizes almost all defendants to plead guilty.​ Mr. Garcia was told that there would be 12 white jurors and he would be found guilty and spend the rest of his life in jail. 

Mr. Garcia was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to withdraw his plea in order to receive proper legal counsel. However.  Mr. Garcia still awaits trial and is currently being detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center located in Brooklyn. 

We need your help with this petition to grant Mr. Garcia’s release on house arrest while awaiting trial so he can better assist in preparing a more effective defense. Previously on July 22, 2021 Mr. Garcia, turned himself in and a month later he was released on bail. Unfortunately not having an effective lawyer Mr. Garcia was manipulated to take a plea deal. Mr. Garcia has shown good faith and believes with your help on being released he can properly defend his case and prove his innocence. 

Once again we deeply appreciate and seek with love the urgency to help Mr. Garcia get the proper defense team that he needs for a better and safer outcome. There comes a time where we have a choice to be united side by side and stand strong against injustice and heinous acts in our community. The time is now. Let’s stand together and  fight against injustices that seek to break up families and destroy lives physically, emotionally and spiritually.
