Please Help Stop The Deportation of Azeez Bello After 38 Years In The UK
Azeez Bello, a 51-year-old Ivoirian said he was brought into the United Kingdom (UK) by his father's friend in 1984 at the age of 13.
He claimed to have been tortured and abused by the person who brought him into the UK from 1984 to 1995. He suffered injuries including burns and cuts before he was bold enough to run away from the torturer in 1995, staying in various locations including Gloucester and Coventry. This is evident by the scars on his body.
He also stated that he had been assaulted by an official of the UK Border Agency in 2012, leading to surgery and a permanent need for walking aids. He has since been registered Disabled due to the assault. All efforts by Azeez to access the CCTV footage of the assault have been denied.
He said he started hearing voices in 2011 when he was imprisoned in HMP Elmley. He attempted suicide at one point.
Azeez has been refused many applications including one for leave to remain on Human Rights grounds with no right of appeal in 2010. Azeez has tried other applications including the naturalisation application (2019), no limit application (2019), and family/private 10 years application (2020) which were all refused.
In 2012, Azeez was served with a signed deportation order. He appealed against this decision, but all appeal rights were refused and exhausted. He went through a similar issue in 2018/19 with all appeals exhausted against his favour.
The Medical Practitioner has documented their clinical observations and concluded that Azeez may have been a victim of torture and modern slavery.
The Home Office accepts that his claim to torture meets the 'Detention Services Order 9/2016' as well as the 'Adult at risk' policy and therefore regards him as an adult at risk.
Many groups and individuals, including Dr Ronke Tomori, along with Mobility Help for Disabled People, a UK-based charity founded by Dr John Olu Adegbite, are involved in Azeez's unfair deportation intention case.
In November 2021, he was served bail pending removal from the UK. He has since been on ongoing detention pending removal to Cote d'Ivoire where he left about 38 years ago, never went back since then, and now knows no one there!
The UK is the only country he knows as his country.
Please help stop his deportation.
Thank you
