Yesterday I spent the day in flood ravaged Northern NSW. It was a tough decision which area to go and help with so many communities desperately in need.  Throughout the day stories unfolded of heroic action taken by everyday people. Shoulder to shoulder locals and visiting volunteers got into the heartbreaking job of ripping out every item from people’s homes. The flood affected belongings mounted the sides of streets like walls reaching higher then their roof tops. I went home emotionally distraught, what can I do to make it better for all of them? So today I am starting this petition to ask all major parties to not waste money on their campaigns for the upcoming election. If they donate that money to the flood relief we will have at least $25 million each from Labour and Liberal, more then $83 million from the United Palmer Party and $70000 from the Greens( stats from the last election) Please spare us from TV advertising, Billboards (Clive this one is mostly for you) kissing babies, washing hair and just give the money to the thousands of people who have lost everything. One last thing it’s definitely time for the Federal Government to crack open the Disaster fund that has $5 billion in it. I’m absolutely confident we can call this a disaster.
