WILL YOU STAND BY? OR WILL YOU STAND UP?

HELP PROMOTE THIS PETITION AND HELP LISA AND EVERYONE LIKE HER TO STAY WITH THEIR FAMILIES. IT,S WHERE THEY BELONG

This is about lisa and the thousands like her that rely on carers to help them stay at home instead of living out their lives in nursing homes.becoming a carer is about how much you are willing to sacrifice for those you love.it also means being treated as sweat shop workers by your government. you are hidden in the welfare system and left without even the basic rights of work cover when you are injured.

my fight is for carers to be recognised as workers and given the same protection that other workers are entitled to. its also your fight because its not a case of if it happens to you its a case of when.

sometimes in life you meet people who can make you smile just by their presence, lisa is one of those people she is beautiful in every sense. she has bewitching blue eyes, she is unpretentious, compassionate and kind.and if you meet her you cant help but fall in love with her. we met and were married the same month and we have been hanging out for 35 years, she is my best friend and when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 15 years ago it was time for me to step up. i could not desert my best friend. it has been a hard road and we are lucky to have met some amazing people along the way that have been inspirational for me.

i decided to use my experience to fight for carers who struggle every day because i have seen first hand the heartbreak from carers who have broken down physically and emotionaly and had to relinquish care, i have seen parents refuse to pick up their children from respite for the same reason.

so the question is does lisa belong in a nursing home, is our government and society willing to stand back and watch it happen to so many of our most vunerable australians.

you can judge and make a difference by signing this petition and asking your friends and family to do the same.
